Health Licensing

• Every food premises are required to pay the respective Health License under the Food Safety Act 2003 and Food Safety Regulation 2009.
• Appoints are to be made 24 hours prior to the inspection with the Health department.
• After being satisfied with the premises and the requirements of the food safety act and regulations, the invoice is issued by the Health Inspector according to the type of food premises and the amount is given as per the food safety regulations.
• The fee is to be paid to the Ministry of Health at Koronubu House at the Health Department or to the Mission Hospital Cashier and receipt to be taken to Council Health Department.
• Once paid, 25th Schedule (Form) is filled and signed by both the applicant and the Health Inspector.
• A copy is given to the applicant and white copy with the receipt is forwarded to Ministry of Health – Food Unit in Suva to process the Health licensing.
• Once the License is processed than the License is forwarded to Council for dispatch.
• The fee is subject to change if there is any change in the VET.
